   There is no such thing as confidential marriage in case of woman. Because she cannot keep her marriage secret, when she becomes pregnant. Marriage cannot be kept secret for long.
   In public marriage, everybody knows about the marriage held between boy and girl.

   Confidential marriages were marriages that were recorded, but were not available as a public record. Public marriage was recorded and immediately available to the public.

   In the US today, you can apply for a confidential marriage license, but there is no longer such thing as a confidential marriage. Normally, marriage license applications are published in the county paper, but you can request that it be confidential. Once the marriage has occurred, it becomes a public record, available to anybody. Nevada was the last bastion of confidential marriages and that ended a few years ago (I can’t remember the year, but it was within the last 10).
